Typing in customs might just connect you with the modified ride you were hoping for.

We're talking all about Craigslist search terms in the cars and trucks section of the site. Due to the concept of search engine optimization (SEO), we're able to narrow-in on searches to find what we really want. This is all while avoiding having to dig through an archive of thousands of irrelevant post until we stumble upon what we're actually looking for.
In this edition of search terms, we're talking about the search for "customs." It's truly amazing, the kinds of results you'll find with this specific word. This is a great way to find classified ads of those vehicles whose owners stray far away from using original equipment manufacturer (OEM) parts. You'll find modified rides, and a plentiful assortment of them.
Typing "custom" in the search bar is a great way to find fellow enthusiasts' cars. You're not going to find run-of-the-mill dailies or Jenny's poorly maintained 10-year-old Altima here. You'll find an array of the good, bad and ugly results of a diverse group of people looking to get rid of their projects, toys and highly modified rides.
Even if you're not looking to buy, at the very least you'll find some interesting rides to look at for nothing more than simple pleasure and appreciation of peoples' creations. To get a better understanding of what I mean, here are a couple of stand-out examples I enjoyed viewing through this search.

This is far from grandma's grocery-getting Corolla. This beast has a big turbo, twin-disk clutch and a tube-chassis all around. It's hard to believe there is a single OEM part left aside from the shell. You can find info to inquire about this vehicle here.

How about this blatantly-obvious custom example- a 1990 Chevy Silverado. If the excessive chrome and bright-orange flame job weren't enough of a dead giveaway of customization, I'd imagine cranking up the huge sound system upon viewing the vehicle would eliminate any doubts. Check out the full-ad here.
Next time you're looking for something more, or, uhm, different, than an old factory-equipped car, try typing "custom" in the search bar to find rides that are one step above stand-outs.
